wadiz (CEO Shin Hye-sung, www.wadiz.kr) is expanding its support for foreign entrepreneurs entering the Korean market. In collaboration with the Global Startup Center (GSC), operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the company is providing a comprehensive program ranging from crowdfunding education to the actual launch of funding projects.
On the 3rd, wadiz hosted the “GSC Industry Workshop” at the GSC under the theme “Launch in Korea with Crowdfunding” for foreign entrepreneurs residing in Korea. Since its opening, the GSC has served as a hub for supporting foreign entrepreneurs, attracting over 7,000 global entrepreneurs from more than 100 countries in its first year. This year, it launched the “Industry Workshop” to help foreign entrepreneurs effectively execute their business plans.
Crowdfunding was selected as the theme for the first session, and wadiz managed the entire process, from program planning to lectures and hands-on training. Approximately 30 foreign entrepreneurs from 18 countries, including India, France, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom, participated in this workshop.
This program was designed to enable foreign entrepreneurs to utilize crowdfunding as a practical means of entering the market as they launch their businesses in Korea and engage with their first customers. Based on success stories from international makers, participants engaged in hands-on exercises to design their own project introductions, Rewards, and pricing. The program also introduced “WAi,” an AI agent that assists with multilingual translation and storywriting, as well as wadiz’s global support infrastructure covering certification, logistics, and marketing. This system is designed to help foreign entrepreneurs reduce the burdens of language and local networking, and to prepare them for the entire process—from presenting their ideas to Korean consumers to securing actual funding—in a seamless flow.
The workshop received positive feedback from participants. Vinod Kumar S., an entrepreneur from India, said, “I felt that wadiz is a suitable platform for early-stage entrepreneurs looking to start with a single product,” adding, “I am seriously considering using wadiz to enter the Korean market.” Raj Hemant, also from India, remarked, “Through this workshop, I was able to confirm the potential of my product in the Korean market and gain a clearer understanding of how to prepare for funding,” adding, “This will be of practical help as I prepare for my own funding campaign in the future.”
For participating teams hoping to launch a funding campaign after the workshop, wadiz plans to provide follow-up support—including matching them with a wadiz Project Director (PD) and consultation on listing their projects—to facilitate the actual launch of their projects.
A wadiz representative stated, “For foreign entrepreneurs, crowdfunding is an effective entry strategy that allows them to quickly connect with Korean consumers, verify market potential, and secure early supporters,” adding, “Starting with this collaboration with GSC, we will continue to expand relevant partnerships and support programs to help global entrepreneurs enter the Korean market more smoothly.”
