[Before Launch] Check These 3 Key Elements: Fundraising Goal, Rewards, and Story
On wadiz, anyone—whether a business owner or an individual—can launch a project. Before launching, be sure to prepare in advance, focusing especially on these three key elements: funding goal, Rewards, and Story!
① Setting Your Fundraising Goal
The funding goal isnot just a desired amount, but the minimum amountneeded to carry out the project. It’s important to calculate wadiz’s fees, Rewards production and shipping costs, project execution costs, and labor costs, and set your funding goal based on the principle: “If we raise this amount, we’ll be able to produce the project Rewards and ship them to our supporters!”
- If you’re preparing a sponsorship or fandom project, check the “Funding Goal Setting Guide for First-Time Funders”
- If you’re preparing a “Creator” category project, check out the “Target Amount Setting Guide for Creators Launching Their First Funding Campaign,”
- If you’re preparing a project in the “Other” category, check out the “Target Amount Setting Guide for Businesses Launching Their First Funding Campaign” for detailed instructions!
② Deciding on Rewards
Many makers preparing sponsorship or fandom projects—as opposed to projects aimed at promoting their own brand or product—struggle with what rewards to offer. In sponsorship and fandom projects, rewards are a token of gratitude for participation. Therefore, simple options like a handwritten note, inclusion in a list of supporters, a project report, or merchandise are more than enough! If you’re curious about detailed design tips, check out the Reward Design Guide. ,
*Rewards Composition Restrictions (Based on the Sponsorship & Fandom Category)
- No single reward may exceed 5 million won, and no single supporter may contribute more than 5 million won per project
- Uncompensated donations are not permitted (Rewards must be provided)
- Items requiring legal certification or safety documentation—such as food, cosmetics, and electronics—cannot be included as Rewards
- You cannot run multiple projects simultaneously
③ Writing the Story
The key to a funding project story is making supporters feel, “I want to cheer for this project!”
To achieve this, you need a story that : 1) grabs supporters’ attention in the introduction → 2) introduces the unique strengths of this project → 3) shares a sincere story that builds trust with supporters → 4) concludes by reiterating the reasons to participate in fundingfor the project. Check out this 4-step storywriting methodin the guide and tailor the flow to fit your project!
[In Progress] Launching and Notifying Your Network
On wadiz, makers can launch their projects on the date and time of their choice following AI monitoring, without any separate pre-approval process. After launch, to promote your project to more supporters, you should focus on two key tasks: 1) promoting the project and 2) communicating with supporters.

The “Launching Soon” feature is the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone. “Launching Soon” is a feature that lets you preview your project— like a trailer—before the main campaign begins.During the “Launching Soon” period, which lasts from a minimum of 7 to a maximum of 25 days before the main projectgoes live, supporters can “sign up for notifications” to receive updates the moment your project launches. This allows you to gather your project’s supporters—the people who will become your allies—in advance!
By collecting a large number of notification sign-ups this way, you can attract supporters as soon as the project launches, giving you a significant advantage in building momentum right from the start. Preparing for a “Launching Soon” campaign isn’t difficult—you can set it up quickly by using the story of the project you plan to launch during the main funding round. Please refer tothe guidefor instructions on writing your “Launching Soon” story. If you want to reach even more people during the “Launching Soon” phase, we alsorecommend running ads!

Once you’ve started gathering supporters through the “Launching Soon” feature and ads, you’ll need to engage with them to turn them into true allies. This is where wadiz News comes in handy! Makers who consistently engaged with supporters through News updates have built a fan base that continues to cheer on their brand’s journey even after the funding period ends. News updates are a great way to build trust and empathy by sharing stories about why you started the project, the background behind the brand or product, and the process of preparing for the funding. If you’re curious about how to write News updates that lead to successful funding, check out this guide!
[After Campaign Ends] Settlement Process
After the funding campaign ends, the settlement process varies depending on whether the funding goal was met.
- If the funding goal is not met, the actual payments from supporters who participated in the campaign will not be processed. Therefore, no platform fees will be incurred, so there are no costs to settle.
- On the other hand, if the funding goal is met, settlement proceeds as follows:
- Payment: Supporter payments are processed over the two days following the campaign’s end (if any payment failures occur during this period, the final amount raised may differ from the actual amount successfully charged)
- Advance Settlement: A settlement received in advance, based on the amount of successful payments, before Rewards are shipped (You can receive a portion of the successful payment amount in advance to cover Rewards preparation costs)
- Rewards Delivery: Deliver the rewards to supporters within the promised timeframe and mark the campaign as “Delivery Complete”
- Final Settlement: After Rewards are shipped, a final settlement is processed, reflecting any refunds (you receive the remaining balance).
- Sharing Results: Announce how the funding was used via News (Sharing results is mandatory and is the best way to build trust that will bring supporters back for your next project)

7. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Expand Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. Do I have to pay a fee if I don’t reach my funding goal?
A. No. If the funding goal is not met, supporters’ payments will not be processed, and neither payments nor fees will be incurred.
Q. Can I change the Rewards price after the campaign launches?
A. You cannot change the price, options, or quantity; you can only edit the name and description of the Rewards. The funding goal and funding duration also cannot be changed after the campaign launches.
Q. When will I receive the settlement funds?
A. You’ll receive the funds in two installments. Within 5 business days after the campaign ends, you’ll receive a preliminary settlement notice (60–80% of the successfully processed amount). Then, 25 days after all Rewards have been delivered, the final settlement process begins; after you receive a statement of account, the funds will be deposited on the scheduled payment date.
Q. Is there a review process?
A. You can launch your campaign on any date and time you choose without a separate pre-approval process. However, compliance with our policies will be verified before and after launch, and you may be asked to make corrections or provide supporting documentation if necessary. Please note that products requiring legal certification, such as food and cosmetics, cannot be included as Rewards, so please verify this in advance.
