众筹与预售:选择合适的项目类型
Updated: 2026-09-01
What you'll learn
- Whether your reward belongs in Funding or Pre-order
- The three benefit types your project must offer to qualify for Pre-order
- Three things to check before you open your project
A project falls into one or the other depending on whether the reward is being revealed to the world for the first time. If it's a brand-new product no one has seen before, it's Funding. If it's a product that's already launched, and you're adding a Wadiz-exclusive benefit to it, it's Pre-order. A Pre-order must meet at least one of three conditions — Domestic Exclusive, Special Bundle, or Limited Edition — and review criteria and sales policy differ by type.
01. What Separates Funding from Pre-order
Project type comes down to one question: is the reward appearing in the world for the first time? Funding is for a not-yet-revealed new product or new idea making its debut on Wadiz. If your goal is a new product launch, a brand launch, product validation, or acquiring early customers, you're almost certainly in Funding. Pre-order, on the other hand, is a reservation-style sale for a product that's already on the market, layered with a special benefit available only to Wadiz supporters. Review criteria, process, and sales policy all differ by type, so confirm which one applies before you start.
| Category | Funding | Pre-order |
|---|---|---|
| Has it launched before? | First reveal | Already launched |
| Main purpose | New product launch, market validation | Special sale |
| Typical example | New product, brand launch | First in Korea, exclusive sale, special bundle, limited edition |
| What's being offered | A new product | A special sale of an existing product |
02. Finding Your Project Type
The short version: if it's never been revealed before, it's Funding. If it's already out there but comes with a Wadiz-only benefit, it's Pre-order.
| Step | Question | YES | NO |
|---|---|---|---|
| STEP 1 | Is this a new product that's never been revealed to the world? | Eligible for Funding | Go to Step 2 |
| STEP 2 | Does it come with a benefit available only on Wadiz? | Go to Step 3 | Not eligible to proceed |
| STEP 3 | Did the product launch overseas first? | Eligible for Pre-order | Go to Step 4 |
| STEP 4 | Has it been featured on Wadiz before? | Not eligible in the same form | Eligible for Pre-order |
03. Choosing Your Pre-order Benefit: Domestic Exclusive, Special Bundle, or Limited Edition
Even an already-launched product can run as a Pre-order if it offers a benefit available only through Wadiz. You must meet at least one of the three conditions below. Domestic Exclusive means the product can't be sold through any other domestic channel from the pre-registration start date through 7 days after reward shipment; for a product launched overseas, the Maker must hold exclusive domestic sales rights.
| Type | Requirement | Best fit for |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic Exclusive | No sales through other domestic channels from pre-registration start through 7 days after shipment / overseas products require exclusive domestic sales rights | First domestic launch, exclusive domestic import, Wadiz-only sales |
| Special Bundle | A bundle not available elsewhere, a Wadiz-only option, extra gifts or services, a better price | Makers who want to keep selling on their own site, or who want to build a Wadiz-only package |
| Limited Edition | Selling from a quantity you've already secured / no plans for further production once the campaign ends / quantity offered isn't disproportionately small | Seasonal-only items, final stock, products that are hard to reproduce |
One thing to watch for with Special Bundle: your story can't include language that directly compares your price to other retailers, such as "lowest price in Korea."
04.Testing Your Project Type
Your project type is "Funding."
You're preparing to introduce a product / service / content that has never launched anywhere else — and Wadiz will be the first place it's revealed. If your reward has already been distributed through your own site or another platform, it can't run as a Funding project. This has to be a reward that's making its debut through Wadiz. If you can say that with confidence, "Funding" is the right type for you.
Your project type is "Pre-order."
You're preparing to bring a previously launched product / service / content to Wadiz, layered with a special benefit. Whether it launched overseas, has run on Wadiz before, or has already been sold elsewhere — as long as it comes with a benefit exclusive to Wadiz supporters, it can run as a Pre-order.

05. Pre-order test: Domestic Exclusive vs. Special Bundle vs. Limited Edition
Your Pre-order benefit is "Domestic Exclusive."
Your product / service / content has launched before, but for this Pre-order, Wadiz will be the only place it's available. If you want to keep selling through other channels while also running a Pre-order on Wadiz, you'll need to add a different benefit instead (Special Bundle or Limited Edition) rather than Domestic Exclusive.
Pre-order – Domestic Exclusive tip:
|
Your Pre-order benefit is "Special Bundle."
Your product / service / content has launched before, but you're preparing something special that's only available when you run a Pre-order on Wadiz. That could be a price benefit, added services like after-sales support, a bundle with a new product — the options are wide open, so put together whatever fits your situation.
Pre-order – Special Bundle tip:
|
Your Pre-order benefit is "Limited Edition."
If your product / service / content has already launched and you have no further production planned, open your Pre-order under the "Limited Edition" benefit. What matters most is that the quantity is genuinely limited — if the reward could be produced or sold indefinitely, it may not qualify as Limited Edition.

06. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q. What's the difference between Funding and Pre-order?
A. Whether the product / service / content has launched before. If it hasn't, it's Funding; if it has, you'll need to add a special benefit and run it as Pre-order. Encore projects also count as Pre-order, since the reward has been introduced on Wadiz before.
Q. What's the difference between Pre-order and Store?
A. Whether it's sold on an ongoing basis. Pre-order is a reservation-style sale of a previously launched product / service / content with an added special benefit, while Store is where Funding or Pre-order projects that meet certain conditions go on to sell continuously on Wadiz. Unlike Pre-order, Store purchases are paid and sold immediately, and completed orders need to ship quickly.
Q. Can I run a Pre-order for a product that's already selling in Wadiz Store?
A. Yes. But you'll need to offer something better than what's available in Store — a bigger discount than the Store price, a bundle Store doesn't offer, or a Wadiz-exclusive package — in which case you can run it without pausing your Store sales.
Q. Can I run a Pre-order for a product that's already sold overseas?
A. Yes. A product that's been distributed domestically or overseas can still run as Pre-order, as long as it offers a benefit exclusive to Wadiz supporters. You'll still need to meet at least one of Domestic Exclusive, Special Bundle, or Limited Edition.
Q. Can I run another Pre-order for a project that already succeeded as a Pre-order?
A. Yes. You'll need to add a new special benefit different from the one you used before. If your Pre-order project also meets Store's entry requirements and you can support ongoing sales with fast shipping, joining Store is worth considering too.
Q. How do I know if my project qualifies for Pre-order?
A. Walk through the type test and guide above and check whether your reward includes a "special benefit" available only on Wadiz. If you submit as Pre-order but the benefit isn't recognized as special, your project may be rejected.
Q. Is Pre-order settlement different from Funding?
A. Some parts are similar, some are different. Which of the three Pre-order benefits you choose (Domestic Exclusive / Special Bundle / Limited Edition) affects your settlement policy. Funding and Pre-order Domestic Exclusive both split settlement into pre-settlement and final settlement based on the amount raised, while Pre-order Special Bundle and Limited Edition are settled 100% as final settlement only. For details, see the Pre-order Settlement Guide.
