Funding Launch D-DAY
Checklist
Don’t miss this!
- Of the payments made in the first 3 days of the campaign, come from users who signed up for notifications. That first News update is crucial.
- Decisions such as turning ad creatives on or off should be made on D+1,, once at least 24 hours of data has been collected.
- Try using booster coupons to drive sales on the first day.
The day the funding campaign launches is the 24-hour period when the project’s initial revenue stream is established. 79.2% of payments made in the first 3 days come from users who signed up for notifications,, and the sequence of actions taken during this time determines future success. If you’re unsure where to start on the first day, check out the checklist below and put it into action!
1. To-Do List for Launch Day
① Check the project details page and Rewards right before launch
The introduction on the project page sets the first impression of your project. Therefore, make sure that key copy and images (GIFs recommended) that showcase your project’s appeal are well-placed at the top. Also, check whether there are any errors in the Rewards options and whether the structure and descriptions are clear and easy to understand It’s a good idea to check them one more time from a supporter’s perspective.

② Setting Up Booster Coupons
Maker coupons, which makers can issue themselves, play a crucial role in boosting performance on the first day of launch. Based on data, the first round of Booster Coupons issued immediately after launch should be set for 1–3 days—rather than a very long validity period—to maximize their impact during the initial launch phase. After setting up Booster Coupons, be sure to announce this benefit in your News feed! This can encourage more supporters to make immediate purchases.

③ Advertising Campaign Conversions
During the period when the product is launching soon it’s time to shift the ads you set up for notification sign-ups to focus on driving payments. You can also test new creatives and targeting based on the insights you gained from running the campaign to launch soon. For post-launch conversion-focused campaigns, be sure to check that clicks on the ads properly land on the main funding page and that no ad copy includes the phrase “sign up for updates.”

④ Upload News Updates
Makers whose funding campaigns were successful always uploaded a News post on the very first day of the campaign to maintain communication with their supporters. For their first News post, they sent a message to those who had signed up for notifications saying, ““The project is now live, so you can participate right away—and since there are these benefits, funding it early is the best deal" Therefore, the key to the first News post is to first announce the project launch while emphasizing benefits such as 1) early bird offers and limited quantities, 2) first-come, first-served events, and 3) booster coupons, all while showcasing the appeal of the flagship Rewards to make supporters want to start funding the project right away.

⑤ Track Performance on Launch Day
Funding data from the first day of the campaign serves as the most crucial foundation for setting your project management strategy until the campaign closes.
After the funding campaign launches, you can view various data in wadiz Maker Studio, including payment transactions, supporter referral sources and on-page behavior, supporter demographics by gender, age, and country, and engagement metrics. If you’ve used ads or booster coupons, you can also check conversion results, so it’s a good idea to review these results on launch day and plan your next steps. Since WAion the Maker Homesuggests personalized actions based on your project data, we recommend discussing these with WAi as you finalize your plan.
To summarize, the checklist for launch day is as follows.
Launch D-Day Checklist
☐ Final check of pages and Rewards right before launch
☐ Set upboostercoupons
☐ Set theadcampaign objective to “Payment Conversion”
☐ Publish thefirstNews update
☐Send reminders viasocial media, online communities, and personal contacts
☐ Comprehensive review of responses tocommentsand inquiries
☐ Review Day 1 data, draft the D+1 News, and prepare next steps
2. To-Do-Not List for Launch Day
On launch day, there are certain actions that can negatively impact performance. Rather than rushing into the following actions on the first day, we recommend waiting a bit longer to review the data before proceeding.
① Do not turn off ad creatives prematurely
Most advertising platforms, including Meta Ads, enter a “learning phase” when a new campaign begins. For the algorithm to identify supporters with a high likelihood of making a purchase, at least around 50 conversion events, and it typically takes 24 to 72 hours. If you frequently turn the ad on and off during this period, the learning process restarts from the beginning, which means it will take even longer to identify the customers best suited for your project. Therefore, we do not recommend pausing the ad just because performance isn’t good on the first day.
Try this instead.
- On the day of launch, hold off on deciding whether to turn ad creatives on or off.
- Just check to see if the ad budget is being spent normally (if less than half of the budget remains, it’s a bidding or targeting issue).
- Use the CTR metric only as a reference, and make decisions based on at least 24 hours of data starting from D+1.
② Do not change the booster coupon conditions immediately
Changing the terms early in the campaign, when some supporters have already received coupons, can cause confusion. Therefore, once a booster coupon is set up, you cannot modify conditions such as the discount method, discount amount, or minimum purchase amount after issuance begins. (It’s also impossible to reduce the quantity; you can only increase it.) Therefore, if you need to change the terms, you can stop issuing the existing coupons and issue new ones. However, since this could undermine supporters’ trust, we recommend setting up your coupons carefully from the start and avoiding changes to the terms as much as possible.
Try this approach.
- Set up launch booster coupons carefully.
- On the launch day, run the campaign exactly as configured.
3. Morning Checklist for Day 1 After Launch
The day after the funding campaign launches, check and implement the following to help your project achieve even better results.
① Review Advertising Performance
Metrics to Check
- Total Impressions, Clicks, and CTR: Compare these metrics by ad.
- Number of payment conversions · CVR: Check how many ad clicks led to a payment.
- ROAS (Return on Ad Spend): Check the revenue generated relative to ad spend.
- Algorithm Training Status: If it is still marked as “Training,” keep the ad creative and postpone any decisions.
Suggested Actions
- We only evaluate creatives that have completed training.
- You can turn off creatives with both low CTR and CVR.
- If an ad has a low CTR but a high CVR, it may still have conversion potential, so try improving the ad copy.
- For creatives with a high CTR but low CVR, the landing page’s appeal may be the issue, so review the first screen of the product detail page.
② Check the Issuance and Usage Status of Booster Coupons
- Check the actual download rate relative to the issued quantity and the remaining quantity.
- Check the ratio of actual usage to downloads and ask WAi to compare your project with others in similar categories.
- If necessary, consider issuing a second round of coupons.
③ Check the conversion rate of notification subscribers
- Check the number of D-Day payers relative to the number of users who signed up for notifications about launching soon.
- Check the payment conversion rate relative to the number of notification subscribers (based on 2025–26 data, 79% of payments made in the first three days after launch came from notification subscribers).
- Ask WAi about the conversion rates for projects in similar categories, and work together to outline the next steps.
④ Compile Frequently Asked Questions on Product Detail Pages
- Review the list of comments, inquiries, and questions received via WAi.
- If a question is repeated three or more times, include it in the FAQ section of the project page or in the “News” section.
⑤ Publish a “D+1” News Update
Continue communicating with supporters by publishing a News item featuring a thank-you message for the launch, a recap of the first day’s results, an announcement of remaining early-bird quantities, and behind-the-scenes production stories.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. The CTR for my ad creatives is noticeably low on launch day—should I really leave it as is?
A. Yes, it’s best to leave it as is. Even if the CTR appears low, it’s difficult to make a judgment until at least 24 hours have passed and data from around 50 payment transactions has been collected. The algorithm may still be in the process of identifying the optimal supporters, and performance often rebounds in the afternoon and evening. Hold off on making a decision today and wait until tomorrow morning.
Q. If the booster coupons run out sooner than expected, should I issue more right away?
A. First, calculate the remaining time and the current rate of redemption. If the current pace suggests they’ll be 100% depleted by the afternoon, you could consider issuing a second batch of coupons around 3:00–4:00 PM. However, rather than rushing to increase the quantity based solely on morning data, we recommend waiting to see if the pace stabilizes in the afternoon before making a decision. Since the issuance quantity can only be increased—not decreased—this decision requires careful consideration. If you need guidance tailored to your project, ask WAi.
Q. I didn’t exhaust my ad budget on the launch day. Can I use the remaining budget all at once on D+1?
A. Yes, you can. However, first check why the budget wasn’t fully spent on launch day. It’s possible that your bid price was too low, your targeting was too narrow, or your creatives are pending review. Identify the cause on the morning of D+1, then decide how to spend the remaining budget (adjusting bid prices vs. adding creatives).
