Wadiz Funding Launch Day Checklist
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Don't miss these
- 79.2% of payments made in the first 3 days after launch come from supporters who signed up for notifications beforehand. The first update is crucial.
- Decisions such as turning ad creatives on or off are best made on D+1, once at least 24 hours of data has been collected.
- Use a Booster Coupon to build payment momentum on day one.
Launch day is the 24-hour window that determines a project’s very first wave of revenue. 79.2% of payments made in the first 3 days after launch come from supporters who have already signed up for notifications, and the sequence of actions taken during this window sets the tone for everything that follows. If you’re unsure what to prioritize on day one, this checklist breaks it down into concrete steps.
01. Launch Day To-Do List
① Review the project details page and rewards right before launch
The opening of the detail page sets the project’s first impression. Ensure that the key copy and images (a GIF is recommended) that best showcase the project are placed near the top. It’s also worth reviewing the reward options one more time from a supporter’s perspective, making sure nothing is incorrect and that the structure and descriptions aren’t confusing.

② Set up the Booster Coupon
A Booster Coupon—one issued directly by the creator—plays the single biggest role in boosting launch-day performance. Data shows that the first Booster Coupon issued right after launch works best as a short initial push: a 1–3 day window is more effective than leaving it open too long. Once it’s set up, be sure to mention the offer in the update post as well—it drives more backers to make an immediate payment.

③ Switch the ad campaign’s objective
It’s time to shift the ads set up during the pre-launch phase—which were designed to collect notification sign-ups—to driving payments instead. It’s also worth testing new creative and targeting based on the insights gathered from the pre-launch campaign. For the post-launch conversion campaign, double-check that clicking the ad takes users to the actual funding details page, and that none of the ad copy still mentions “notification sign-up.”

④ Publish a News Update
Makers who successfully secure funding consistently publish a news update on launch day to keep the conversation with supporters going. That first update is an opportunity to tell notification subscribers: “The project is now open, you can join right away, and here’s why funding now gets you the most.” So the first update should announce the launch, highlight perks such as 1) early-bird offers or limited quantities, 2) first-come-first-served events, and 3) the Booster Coupon, and introduce the appeal of the flagship reward—all to make supporters want to fund right away.

⑤ Track launch-day performance
Launch-day funding data is the single most important foundation for shaping the project’s strategy through to the deadline.
After launch, Wadiz Maker Studio displays a range of data—payments, how backers arrived and interacted on the page, backer demographics by gender, age, and country, and engagement metrics. If ads or a Booster Coupon were used, their conversion performance can also be checked, so it’s worth reviewing these numbers on launch day itself and planning your next steps. On Maker Home, WAi suggests tailored actions based on the project’s data, so it helps to discuss these with WAi while putting the plan together.
In short, here’s the launch-day checklist:
Launch D-Day Checklist
- ☐ Final check of the page and rewards right before launch
- ☐ Set up the Booster Coupon
- ☐ Change the ad campaign’s objective to “payment conversion”
- ☐ Publish the first update
- ☐ Send reminders via social media, online communities, and personal networks
- ☐ Review all comments and inquiries
- ☐ Review day-one data, draft the D+1 update, and prepare next steps
02. Launch Day Do’s and Don’ts
Some actions on launch day can actually harm performance. Rather than acting on these hastily on day one, it’s better to give it more time and monitor the data first.
① Don’t turn off ad creatives too soon
Meta and most other ad platforms enter a “learning phase” when a new campaign begins. The algorithm needs roughly 50 conversion events to identify potential paying customers, and gathering that much data typically takes 24–72 hours. Frequently turning the ad creative on and off during this period resets the learning process, which only prolongs the time it takes to find the right customers for the project. Therefore, turning off the ad creative simply because launch-day performance appears weak is not recommended.
Do this instead:
- Hold off on any decisions to turn creatives on or off on launch day.
- Just confirm that the ad budget is being spent as expected (if less than half the budget is being used, it’s likely a bid or targeting issue).
- Treat CTR as a reference point only, and make actual decisions once at least 24 hours of data is available, starting from D+1.
② Don’t change Booster Coupon terms right away
Changing the terms early on, after supporters have already claimed the coupon, creates confusion. That’s why the discount method, discount amount, and minimum payment amount cannot be changed once a Booster Coupon begins issuing. (The quantity can only be increased, never decreased.) Changing the terms means canceling the existing coupon and issuing a new one—which can undermine supporters’ trust—so it’s best to set up the coupon carefully from the start and avoid changing its terms afterward.
Do this instead:
- Set up the launch Booster Coupon carefully from the start.
- Run it as-is on launch day.
03. D+1 Morning Checklist
The morning after launch, check and act on the following to help the project perform even better.
① Review ad performance
Metrics to check
- Total impressions, clicks, CTR — compare across creatives.
- Payment conversions, CVR — how effectively ad clicks converted into payments.
- ROAS (return on ad spend) — revenue relative to ad spend.
- Learning phase status — if a creative still shows “learning,” keep it running and hold off on making a judgment.
Suggested actions
- Only evaluate creatives that have completed the learning phase.
- Ads with both low CTR and low CVR can be paused.
- Ads with a low CTR but a high CVR may still have conversion potential—try improving the copy.
- Ads with a high CTR but low CVR may indicate a problem with the landing page’s appeal—re-examine the detail page’s opening screen.
② Check Booster Coupon Issuance and Usage
- Compare the download rate and remaining quantity to the number of copies issued.
- Compare the actual usage rate with the number of downloads, and ask WAi to compare it with similar projects in the same category.
- Decide whether a second round of coupons is needed.
③ Check the notification-to-payment conversion rate
- Compare the number of D-Day payers to the number of pre-launch notification sign-ups.
- Check the conversion rate from sign-up to payment (based on 2025–2026 data, 79% of payments in the first 3 days after launch came from notification subscribers).
- Ask WAi for the conversion rate of similar projects in the same category, and plan next steps together.
④ Organize frequently asked questions on the detail page
- Review the list of questions from comments, inquiries, and WAi.
- Any question that comes up 3 or more times should be added to the FAQ on the detail page or addressed in an update.
⑤ Publish the D+1 update
Keep the conversation with supporters going with an update that thanks them for the launch, shares day-one results, announces the remaining early-bird quantity, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the product was made.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q. My ad creative’s CTR is noticeably low on launch day—should I really just leave it alone?
A. Yes, it’s best to leave it as is. Even if the CTR appears low, it’s difficult to make a judgment until at least 24 hours have passed and roughly 50 payment events have been recorded. The algorithm may still be identifying the right supporters, and performance sometimes picks up again in the afternoon or evening. Hold off today and make a decision tomorrow morning.
Q. My Booster Coupon is running out faster than expected—should I issue more right away?
A. First, calculate the remaining time and current rate of consumption. If it’s on track to run out completely by the afternoon, issuing a second round around 3–4 PM is worth considering. But rather than rushing based on morning data alone, it’s better to see if the rate stabilizes in the afternoon before deciding. You can only increase the quantity—never decrease it—so this decision requires careful consideration. Ask WAi if a recommendation tailored to your project would be helpful.
Q. I didn’t use up the ad budget on launch day. Can I allocate the remaining budget to D+1?
A. Yes. But first, check why the budget wasn’t spent—the bid may be too low, the targeting too narrow, or the creative may still be under review. Once the cause is clear on the morning of D+1, decide how to use the remaining budget (adjusting the bid vs. adding creative).
